Özet

© 2023, Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences.Polymeric surfactants, compared to low molecular weight surfactants, provide prolonged stability and help modify the system’s rheological properties. In recent years, many studies have been published on conjugation of various proteins and carbohydrates to come up with designer biopolymers with superior properties to already available ones. The path to better predict the behavior of surfactant polymers before attempting an application would be through fundamental understanding of the mechanism of adsorption. This review explains the mechanism of polymer adsorption in an all fluid systems by going over each of the crucial properties that a good surfactant should possess and explains interfacial phenomena considering the driving thermodynamic laws and molecular interactions. The review addresses readers with no prior knowledge on the subject and tries to provide them with fundamental knowledge on surfactant polymers’ behavior on interfaces.
