Abstract

The notion of affordances is often directly linked with studies on mirror and canonical neurons as well as studies that try to relate language. In our previous work, we had developed a formalization for the leaming, perception and use of affordances in autonomous robots. In this paper, we will present ideas on how this formatization can be used as a base to link affordances with mirror/canonical neuron studies. Specifically, we will review the studies on mirror and canonical neurons as well as studies on modeling them and relating them to affordances, and will propose how our own affordance formalization can be extended to link affordances with mirror and canonical neurons.
