Özet

Some of the parameters that affect the properties of bone cement were investigated. The powder component of bone cement, PMMA microspheres, were prepared by suspension polymerization. The liquid component consisted mainly of methylmethacrylate. The powder and liquid components were mixed in a weight ratio of 2:1 and bone cement was formed. Among the parameters that are known to affect the properties of bone cement, size of the microspheres of the powder component, amount of initiator, reaction temperature and emulsifier concentration were examined.
