Project Abstract

Children and youth nowadays are exposed to number of health and safety threats in their everyday life, both on

individual and collective level - from obesity, exposure to PAS, social media addiction to viruses and other natural

disasters. Do they learn/have enough information on all things endangering them? Is this information

youth-friendly and accessible, and above all-transmitted in a way children and youth would adopt them and think

on their own health and safety from different perspective? Do schools and parents pay proper attention to

this?Project „Standing Together for Healthy and Safe Community“ is envisaged as 12-month activity to be

implemented in partnership of actors from sport, youth and education sector (local football clubs, youth

organizations and faculties for sport and psychical education) from 6 countries involved. Its general objective is to

revitalize the educational and pedagogic role of sport, using influence that football trainers have on children and

youth. We want to develop, test and prepare training module for trainers on how to use their trainings and

permanent work with children and youth to introduce other topics of relevance for everyday life of children/youth.

This time, we focused on health and safety issues, since it is our joint observation that children do not know much

about this important segment for their general well-being.Project will include set of diverse activities: research and

expert work on development of training module; training for football trainers to adopt developed module;

implementation of gained knowledge in clubs football trainers are coming from and preparation of comprehensive

overview on findings and recommendations from the process, as well as promotional campaign underlining

educational role of sport. It will reach 25 trainers from 5 local clubs and 500 children aged 10-18 (as direct target

group) and more than 50,000 people (as indirect beneficiaries), to be informed on it through parallel campaign.
