The SMILE project plays an important role in addressing the challenges faced by higher education institutions in Somalia, where international cooperation remains insufficient and institutional capacity is limited. Somali universities face difficulties in their efforts to modernize, access global knowledge, and enhance the quality of education. SMILE aims to address these gaps by promoting internationalization through academic mobility, strategic partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives.
