Project name: Offshore Wind Farms Large-Scale Integration in Turkey (WindFlag)

Project Objective: Turkey is one of the fastest-growing energy markets in the world, with an annual 8% increase in energy demand. The wind and solar energy rate in total consumption are planned to be increased by at least 30% in the coming five years according to the 2023 vision plan of Turkey. The project aims to specify the potential large-scale offshore wind power plants in Turkey and assess their power production capabilities taking into account grid connection possibilities. It is also aimed to identify short-term and long-term effects of offshore wind power plants to the electric power system of Turkey.
