ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF INTEGRABLE EVOLUTION EQUATIONS Turhan, Refik MS, Department of Physics Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atalay Karasu September 1997, 46 pages. Symmetry based GKS classification method for integrability is investigated. The method is used in finding the recursion operators of the Burgers' equation and in the classification of a sub class of third order scalar evolution equations.
